Water Program

The Water Program supports agricultural water management by helping primary producers in Alberta adopt better water management practices and priority actions. It funds on-farm irrigation systems and on-farm water supply projects (dugouts, dams, spring developments) with cost-sharing grants of up to 50% of eligible expenses.
What you'll need
- Water Program Application Form (completed and signed)
- Proof of 10% down payment for On-Farm Irrigation Stream projects
- Proof of payment in full for On-Farm Water Supply Stream projects
- Invoices dated after April 1, 2023, under applicant's legal name
- Approved Construction Sheet (for dugouts, dams, spring developments)
- Proof of water licence application or amendment (if required)
