The Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) is a paid work-integrated learning initiative that helps bioscience and healthcare employers hire post-secondary students while subsidizing 50% of student wages (up to $5,000 per placement term). Placements range from 4 to 16 weeks at a minimum of 10 hours per week, allowing employers to build talent pipelines while students gain hands-on experience in their field of study.
What you'll need
- Business registration or proof of organization status
- Baseline number of students hired in previous calendar year (for employers with 100+ employees)
- Job description demonstrating biotechnology, biosciences, or healthcare focus
- Student enrollment verification from post-secondary institution
