Career Starter Program

The Career Starter Program provides bio-economy employers with up to $20,000 in wage subsidies to hire youth facing barriers to employment who are not currently in employment, education, or training. Employers receive 60% of wages (to a maximum of $20,000) plus wraparound supports including case management, training, and services to address employment barriers.
What you'll need
- Youth participant information and proof of NEET status (6+ months not in employment, education, or training)
- Proof of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or protected person status
- Employer business registration and proof of bio-economy operation
- Job description and mentorship plan
- Proof of employer contribution (minimum 40% of participant salary)
- Progress report submission commitment
